Know This SUV? Police Search For Suspect In Hit-Run Crash That Killed Bellport Man

Police investigators in Suffolk Country have released photos as they attempt to track down a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run in East Patchogue last month.

Bellport resident Alexis Velasquez, 30, was riding his bicycle on Montauk Highway near Gazzola Drive at approximately 4:30 a.m. on April 28 when he was struck by an SUV that proceeded to speed away from the scene.

According to police, detectives believe the vehicle that struck Velasquez is a silver 2013 to 2015 Nissan Rogue, which sustained damage to the front passenger side during the crash. The vehicle fled eastbound on Montauk Highway.

The Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a $5,000 cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of the driver who struck and killed Velasquez.
